Waiting isn't fun, is it?

We are still waiting. Waiting in Idaho with no real departure date in sight. Basically, our work visas are still being processed by Abu Dhabi's homeland security and that can take a very...long...time.

So, we are still here!

Instead of focusing on what we aren't doing (getting settled in our new home, learning where we are going to be working, watching camel races, etc), we are trying to focus on the positive:

1. It is 73 degrees. Once we depart, we probably won't see below 90 and humid until our Christmas visit.
2. Every month, my best girlfriends and I meet for book club. I was in attendance for our September meeting.
3. We have four nieces that are growing and changing on a daily basis. Every day we spend here is another day we get to see them do something new and fun.
4. Golf is WAY cheaper here than in Abu Dhabi.
5. Catching up on our Netflix series (Breaking Bad, Once Upon a Time, and How I Met Your Mother...what should we watch next?)
6. Saying "goodbye" is getting a little easier. Mainly because we've said goodbye to the same people over and over and over. By the third time, it's more like a "Hey, if we don't see you again (but we probably will), see you at Christmas!"
7. My parents didn't know when they said, "Sure, you can stay with us!" it would be for over a month, but they've been so awesome in putting up with us!

The waiting has been good for us. Not only in reminding us that we are going to a new country to work and live and they move at a different speed over there, but that we can't waste our energy worrying about things we simply cannot control. Leaving is going to be one of the most difficult thing we've every done, but the waiting has only solidified the belief that this is what we want to do for the next two years.

More soon (hopefully)!
